How do I install my Blue Sky service?
To use Blue Sky, you only need to connect a broadband telephone adapter (provided by Blue Sky at no charge) to your phone and your modem. This adapter routes all your calls through your Web connection.

Does my computer need to be on to use Blue Sky?
No, your computer does not need to be on to use Blue Sky, and you can use the Internet while you talk. How is this possible? Blue Sky unlocks your internet connection's untapped potential in order to save you money on long distance and international calls.

Which broadband Internet providers work with Blue Sky?

Does Blue Sky give me a new telephone number?
With Blue Sky, the choice is yours! Once you sign up for Blue Sky, you can choose to receive a new number, or if it's available keep your current telephone number. If this is an important feature for you, we encourage you to try our phone number availability tool.

Is there a place I can go to check my monthly calls and phone numbers?
Yes! Blue Sky logs all this information in an easy-to-read format. You can see all your recent monthly calls by visiting your Blue Sky Dashboard area of your account. You can also check your voicemail from this section, change your account settings or edit your outgoing voicemail message.

Do I have to give up my current phone service to use Blue Sky?
No - many people use Blue Sky as a second phone line. Some take advantage of our super-low international rates, others choose one of our unlimited phone plans to save on long distance calls. Blue Sky provides you with choice. We're flexible so you can be. With Blue Sky, it's always your call.

What is VoIP/Internet Phone Service? Is Blue Sky a VoIP phone service?
VoIP stands for Voice-over Internet Protocol. In other words, VoIP is the technology that allows Blue Sky to routes phone calls through your broadband internet connection. This in turn lowers your monthly phone bill AND gives you VoIP-exclusive phone features such as Voicemail Plus and Call Hunt. All while using your current phone. Even though VoIP uses your internet connection, your computer does not need to be on to use Blue Sky. You can also surf the Web while using your Blue Sky phone service.

Do I have the option of using multiple phones with Blue Sky?
Yes. You can either:
  • Connect a multiple-jack extension connector into your Blue Sky's Phone Adapter (port 1).
  • Purchase a cordless phone system that features multiple handsets and one base station you plug into your phone adapter.
  • Purchase wireless phone jacks (not most reliable or highest quality).

Why are my calls suddenly being routed directly to my voicemail instead of to my phone?
If your calls are being redirected to your voicemail rather than go straight to your Blue Sky phone, the issue is with your Phone Adapter's inability to "register" with our proxy server. There could be any number of reasons for this, including:
  • Your broadband Internet connection has been lost.
  • You have experienced a power outage.
  • You are using a router or firewall security option that is blocking Blue Sky calls.
If you believe one of these issues above is causing the problem, you should try to reboot your phone adapter. To do so:
  1. Unplug the power cord from the back of the adapter.
  2. After waiting approximately 15 seconds, plug your adapter back in.
  3. Wait 5 minutes. Then try to make a call.

If I want to add an additional line to my Blue Sky account, how much will it cost me?
You can add another phone number to your account at any time - and have all your calls organized on one bill.
